Κάθε νύχτα κατεβαίνει στὸ πηγάδι
καὶ τὸ πρωὶ φανερώνεται ξανά
μὲ νέο πάντα ἑρπετὸ στὰ χέρια της.

Each night she descends into the well
and in the morning alight once more,
with a new serpent in her hands.
